Patient Policies and Guidelines
After-Hours and Emergency ServicesIn case a medical problem arises when our clinic is closed, we are available through an answering service. However, we request our patients to use this service only in the case of emergencies and medical conditions that need immediate care, and not to make appointments or to fill routine prescriptions
Scheduling Visits, Walk-ins and Work-ins
We understand that your time, as well as ours, is valuable. We will do everything possible to keep our office running efficiently and your waiting time to a minimum. In order for us to achieve this, we stress the importance of scheduling appointments and keeping them. Should you be unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you call and cancel at least 24 Hours in advance. That will enable us to see another patient during that time. We feel this is so important that we charge $35 for missed appointments. There may be times when you will need to be seen as soon as possible and open appointment times are unavailable. In such cases, we will work you in between scheduled patients. However, please remember that there might be a significant wait before you can be seen.
Fees and Insurance Matters
There have been recent changes in the way insurance companies make payments based on our claims. We have decided to put the following policies in place to help us run our practice more efficiently and ultimately serve you better.
-
We require you to carry and present your insurance card before each visit.
-
We require that the co-payment for your visit be made before the consultation.
-
Medicare patients are now required to pay 20% of the Consultation Fee at the time of the visit.
-
There will be a $35 charge for appointments that are not cancelled 24 Hours in advance. This fee must be paid prior to the next appointment.
-
If a claim to the insurance company is denied or applied to your deductible, you are responsible to make the payment and you will be billed. Payments must be made within thirty days, failing which, the matter will be referred to a collection agency. If you disagree with your insurance company's decision, please call them. If you need our assistance, please call our office. Our office cannot ensure that your insurance company pays claims according to your policy.
